This Fujicolor Industrial 100 snapback hat pays tribute to the distinctly utilitarian Japanese packaging of the ISO 100 color negative film commonly known outside Japan as Fujicolor Industrial 100. The dark green and white P421 Weekender echoes the simple green-and-white look associated with the film, making the reference immediately familiar to photographers who encountered imported rolls in film shops, online, or tucked away in a film fridge.

Despite the name used by photographers outside Japan, “Industrial” was essentially shorthand for Fujifilm’s business-use / recording color film packaging. It was a Japanese-market 35mm ISO 100 color negative film sold primarily in bulk rather than promoted like a mainstream consumer film. That plain, workmanlike packaging became part of its appeal, especially as photographers outside Japan began seeking it out through importers and specialty film sellers. Sources differ on whether it was a distinct emulsion or essentially the same film as Japanese Fujicolor 100, so the design celebrates the packaging and film itself rather than making unsupported claims about a unique formula.

Now discontinued, Fujicolor Industrial 100 represents a specific period of Japanese film culture that is easy to recognize if you were there for it—and obscure enough that another film photographer may notice it before anyone else does.

I like it’s a snap-back so it fits really well and I love the color - white and green, simple. Very nostalgic and everyone recognizes what it is.

Really nice hat but..:

Well constructed. Feels durable. Looks just as good as in the photos. BUT because the price is given in € it was not clear the item was coming from the USA, so I ended paying tax. A lot of tax. As much as the cost of the hat itself. A pity. Buyers in Europe beware!
