There’s a point in every darkroom session where chemistry, timing, and a little blind faith start to feel suspiciously close to sorcery.

Master of the Darkroom Arts puts the enlarger front and center, surrounded by the red glow of the darkroom, a timer counting things down, and a pair of hands hovering overhead like the next print is about to be summoned instead of exposed. If you’ve ever stood under a safelight waiting for an image to come up in the tray, you probably understand the feeling.

This one is printed on the Comfort Colors® 1717 Heavyweight Garment-Dyed T-Shirt. The 6.1 oz ring-spun U.S. cotton has a more substantial feel than a lightweight tee, but the soft-washed fabric keeps it from feeling stiff. The relaxed unisex fit gives the tall artwork plenty of room, and Black is the obvious home for all that red darkroom glow.
