No Light Meter, No Problem – Sunny 16! When the batteries die in your fancy-pants Leica M6, don’t fret! You can still take pictures using the Sunny 16 rule! Or maybe your camera doesn’t have a light meter–or worse yet, you forgot your light meter; Sunny 16 will save the day!
As long as your subject is illuminated by bright direct sunlight, set your aperture to f/16 and your shutter speed to the inverse of your film speed or the closest value (ie. with ISO 100 film, set your shutter to 1/100th or 1/125th) and voila, you have a beautifully exposed picture.
This little guy will remind you that even though you don’t have a light meter, you can still shoot to your heart’s content.
Designed by me, made in the U.S.A.!
2.5 x 3.75", durable, beefy vinyl with a UV laminate–will stand up to scratching, rain, and sunlight, outdoor adventures, on location photo shoots, ill-advised treks through the desert, and pretty much anything else within reason.
