Nikon Film Camera featured in Chanel's Cruise 2017/18 Collection Ad

Nikon Film Camera featured in Chanel's Cruise 2017/18 Collection Ad

Fashion house Chanel has released an ad for their Cruise 2017/2018 collection featuring Liu Wen using a Nikon film camera. I'm not overly familiar with Liu Wen other than to say she's a model, and I don't know if she actually knows how to use that camera, but I have to admit that I think it's nice to see such a beautiful camera used in the ad, even if it is just a prop. Extra points to those if you that can identify the exact model of camera.

ONDU Pinhole - My First Experience PLUS 30% OFF Until November 23rd!

Ondu Pinhole

Pinhole is a VERY different process than what I'm used to. As "simple" as it is, I always found it a bit intimidating!

When I saw these beautifully crafted pinhole cameras by @ondu_pinhole, I knew I wanted to give it a shot. I even tried to take a 1-second portrait...fingers crossed! They also have a customized engraving option, which I absolutely had to take advantage of.

I shot some videos of my first pinhole shooting experience, and as soon as I get the results back, I'll be sharing that video and the photos.

This model is the 6x12 Multiformat, which shoots in 6x6, 6x9, AND 6x12! Of course, I HAD to shoot 6x12. The crew at ONDU are also offering you guys a pretty chunky discount of 30% for the 6x12 Multiformat! Just use code "mikeondu30" at ondupinhole.com! The code is good until November 23rd, 2017.

Oh, and another thing: you'll get a free "Analog Forever" ShootFilmCo lapel pin with the discount code, too!

I also listed ONDU in the Ultimate Gift Guide for Film Photographers, so be sure to check out that lisit!

Polaroid vs. Fujifilm Over...Borders!

Polaroid vs. FujiFilm

World Intellectual Property Review published an article today about Polaroid's alleged trademark litigation against Fujifilm over the iconic white border found on instant film photos.

From WIPR:

"In March, Fujifilm claimed it received a letter stating that Polaroid would have “no choice but to take appropriate action to protect” its IP rights if Fujifilm did not withdraw its product from the market."

Fujifilm filed a counter complaint accusing Polaroid of “turning against Fujifilm by suddenly demanding millions of dollars in annual royalty payments, on threat of a lawsuit”.

You can read all the fun legalese over at the WIPR website.
